Data Deletion Request

At CATHCA GROUPS, we respect your right to control your personal data. You may request the deletion of your personal information at any time, in accordance with the Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

What Data Can Be Deleted

Upon your request, we will delete the following personal data:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Business details provided for trademark consultations
  • Communication records and consultation history
  • Account preferences and settings
  • Website usage data associated with your identity

What Data May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained for legal and regulatory compliance:

  • MyIPO filing records — Trademark applications filed with the Malaysia Intellectual Property Office are government records and cannot be deleted by Cathca.
  • Financial transaction records — Payment records must be retained for a minimum of 7 years under Malaysian tax and accounting regulations.
  • Legal correspondence — Records required for ongoing or potential legal proceedings may be retained as necessary.

How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your personal data, please contact us using one of the following methods:

Option 1: Email Request

Send an email to trademark@cathca-ip.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include:

  • Your full name
  • Email address associated with your account
  • Phone number (for identity verification)
  • Specific data you wish to have deleted (or “all personal data”)

Option 2: Written Request

Send a written request to our office address (available on our Contact page).

Processing Timeline

  • Acknowledgment: We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days.
  • Verification: We may contact you to verify your identity before processing the request.
  • Completion: Data deletion will be completed within 30 days of verification.
  • Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

Meta Platform Data

If you have interacted with our content on Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, please note:

  • We do not store your personal social media data. Our Meta integration is limited to publishing content to our official business pages.
  • Engagement data (likes, comments, shares) is collected in aggregate form only and cannot be traced to individual users.
  • To manage your data with Meta directly, visit Facebook’s data deletion page.
